First of all, I love IMDB for all the information they have about movies. In my free time, if I'm not checking email or reading the news, I like to check out the Cast and Crew list of movies I've watched and see what other movies the actors and actresses have been in. Exciting right? Well sometimes it's more fun than solitaire. Anyway, I was watching that movie Yes Man with Jim Carrey and toward the end of the movie Jim's character ends up in the hospital. Well, there was this nurse that had no lines but just did her job and walked out. Normally I wouldn't care but when looking at the cast list, they show Nurse : Katsy Chappell. IMDB has no picture to go with the name but I did a google search for that name and all I found was this other woman's information. The other woman is a black lady and seems to be in some other movies and I even saw a myspace page for a comedian by that name. Any information I found didn't seem to be about anyone looking like the lady in the photo. So I was just wondering if there was a typo in the cast list or was there more than one nurse but only one nurse credit. And yes, I know that the Lee character was a male nurse but on the cast list there was only one Nurse credit. I figure that sometimes random normal people can be put in movies as extras. So, is this lady a random extra? I'm assuming if she's not a real actress that she was cast from a modeling agency? If so, what other work has she done? Which brings up another question, or four. Where does one find a full list of a movie's cast? Does anyone keep track of who the extras are in movies? Do some people manage to be extras in multiple movies and it just turns out to be a private joke (or accomplishment) between themselves and their friends? If that turns out to be somewhat of a common thing, could there be a Where's Waldo game of movie extras? I would think that if a modeling agency was able to cast one of their models, they would want that info out there. Just like a photo credit of an ad in a magazine. Maybe that info is out there but I just don't know where to find it. Not that I really feel like digging through all that info, but it might be fun to know I could if I wanted to on a really boring day. And if future movie producers or directors were looking for people to cast, I guess they just go to a casting agency and say "get me someone like this." And the casting agencies are like super sleuths who can find anyone and figure out everyone who's been in a movie? Or do they just look it up in a list? Well I think I'm done with my rambling of disappointment in an incomplete cast list. I'm sure this happens often, I just don't catch it. I tried looking for a forum or blog about this problem but my attention span for that search was about 3 seconds. Has anyone else run into this problem and then been frustrated with the results? Well, I'll toss this blog out there and see what I get. In the mean time, the black queen goes over the red king right?
Ah hah! It looks like I just had to do some more digging in IMDB. Her name is Holly Westen. Also casted as catering staff in the movie "Because I Said So." Which was actually listed in the movie credits. It turns out you can find uncredited people on that IMDB website.
her name is Holly Westen
